The Misquamicut Fire District has various elected and appointed Committees who assist the Moderator in the governing of the District.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is an advisory group to the Board of Officers comprised of volunteer MFD taxpayers who are appointed by the Moderator. Committee members analyze the current budget for expenditures and income and present a proposed budget to the Board. The Committee meets 1 to 2 times prior to the Annual Meeting and all meetings are open to the public.

Firehouse Renovation Committee
The MFD Board of Officers appointed a Firehouse Renovation Committee to explore fire station renovations. This committee is expected to last 1-2 years and hold its meetings at the fire station. The committee's meetings will be open to the public and comply with the R.I. Secretary of State's Open Meeting Laws. The committee will report its recommendations to the District Board of Officers for approval and then be presented to Taxpayers and Residents for approval at an Annual District meeting.
